CareATC is looking for an independent and driven Medical Assistant for a full-time opportunity at the LG&E-KU Energy Clinics, providing Occupational Health with some primary care services! This opportunity is a full-time, benefit-eligible position, providing direct patient care in a health care setting in Louisville, KY. There are no nights or weekends!!

About This Opportunity: CareATC is currently looking for a Medical Assistant to work collaboratively with the staff providers at LG&E-KU Energy, Occupational Health, and Primary Care offices, as well as onsite services at LG&E Plant Clinic Locations. To provide exceptional patient/client satisfaction, the medical assistant will assist in daily administrative activities, perform occupational testing for medical surveillance exams, hearing conservation exams, and assist the provider with all patient visits.
The role of the Medical Assistant:
Clerical responsibilities, appointment scheduling, and office call/fax handling
Greet patients, perform vitals.
Performs workup for all physical exams, patient triage, assisting/follow-up with pulmonary function testing, fit testing, EKG, and audiograms associated with the hearing conservation program.
Exhibit good clinical judgement within the scope of the role with or without the provider's oversight.
Follow all clinical and clerical protocols per company policy.
Must be willing to travel to onsite clinic locations, Monday through Friday (no overnight stay required)

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) plus one of the following:
Medical Assistant certification or diploma from an accredited MA program
Or 1-year relevant work experience or on-the-job training in lieu of certification or diploma
Emergency Medical Technician
Military-trained medic
Experience:
Minimum one year of recent experience in a medical setting with Occupational training is strongly preferred.
Must possess a current BLS, CPR certification, and current health records with the appropriate documentation for immunizations to work in the healthcare field (hepatitis B and tuberculosis).
